Requirements to study
in the United States.

USA

Tips for preparing for your appointment at the embassy:

  1. Printed copy of the appointment.

  2. Your current passport valid for at least six months longer than the length of your stay in the US and your previously issued passports.

  3. The confirmation sheet for Form DS-160 with the barcode you filled out in step 3.

  4. Receipts for payment of the student visa application.

  5. Form I20 for F1 and M1 visa or form DS-2019 for J1 visa.

  6. SEVIS receipt.

  7. Various photos.

In addition, it is also advisable to bring:

  1. Financial documents that provide reliable evidence that you have sufficient funds available to pay all your expenses for the first year of study in the United States.

  2. Academic documents proving your preparation. These may include your high school transcripts and your SAT and TOEFL scores.

  3. If you have received a scholarship, it is also advisable to present all the documentation for it.

  • Valid passport

  • Pay tuition fees

  • Justification of funds for the period of stay

  • Study at a school supervised by the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), although this does not apply to students who do not need a visa. 

  • Secondary: Translate the last 3 years (Evaluate and validate them with a specialized company)

  • Mandatory entrance exams: SAT and TOEFL, in the case of GMAT and GRE Masters. 

  • Be Admitted to a University. 

  • Form I20 (F1 and M1 visas)

  • Form DS-2019 for J1 visa

  • Student Visa:  F1 visa: granted for academic studies. For example in institutes, universities, conservatories or language schools. It is also what is needed if your course of study is more than 19 hours a week.

  • M1 visa: for vocational or non-academic education (e.g. pilot).  J1 Visa: for exchange programs when studying high school in the United States. (Form DS-2019)

The requirements to enroll in universities are somewhat more demanding. This is the documentation to study at a higher educational institution in the United States:

  • Transcript or degree certificate, preferably translated motivation letter

  • Some entities ask to demonstrate certain knowledge of English in exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, PTE or C1

  • AdvancedPay the application fees at each university, around 100 USD per application Student health insurance: you can have your own or the university's student insurance that is included in your fees and registration for all international students. 

  • Sending additional documentation: “Bank Statement”. A statement from your parents' bank account where you can prove that you can pay for your studies in the United States.

  • Passport. Obviously, you must have it in order and renewed. Medical documents. Such as medical records and immunization records.


Requirements for
study in Canada.

Canada
  • Valid passport

  • Pay tuition fees

  • The first thing you should know are the requirements to study in Canada.

  • Although these may vary depending on several factors such as the course you want to study, your nationality or your level of English, generally, you need to meet the following conditions:

  • Passport valid for your entire stay.

  • Enroll in a government-accredited Canadian school.

  • Getting a student visa for Canada.

  • Also, keep in mind that the paperwork you need to complete depends on the program you want to take. These requirements for studying in Canada are the most common:

  • English level certificate (IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, CAE).

  • Medical tests.

  • Demonstration of financial funds.

  • Motivational letter.

  • Criminal record.

Requirements to study
in the United Kingdom.

United Kingdom
  • Passport (current and previous, if applicable)

  • Bank statements, confirming that you have enough money for your study and stay in the UK.

  • Sponsorship letter, if someone sponsors your educational trip

  • Official invitation from the UK educational institution Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)

  • Proof of English proficiency, if necessary

  • Tuberculosis test result (for certain countries only)

  • You will also have to pay an additional fee for medical care (IHS) as part of your application.

  • Parental consent, if you are under 18 years old

You will also need to provide a certified translation of any documents that are not in English.

Requirements for
study in Switzerland.

Swiss
  • Copy of your passport, valid for at least 3 months from the expected date of arrival in Switzerland.

  • Application for a National Visa “D”. You must submit 3 forms, all completed and signed.

  • 4 recent passport-sized photographs (35x45mm).

  • University Acceptance Letter, issued by the institution where you will study in Switzerland.

  • Proof of payment for registration and tuition.

  • Official transcript from the universities you attended (in the case of graduate students).

  • High school diploma or Bachelor's degree.

Requirements for Swiss universities: documentation

  • First, a printed copy of the registration form.

  • Second, two passport photos.

  • Third, copy of the identification document.

  • Fourth, in the case of graduate students, official transcript from the universities you attended.

  • Fifth, high school diploma or Bachelor's degree.

  • Sixth, certificate of proficiency in the language in question.

  • Seventh, CV.

  • Eighth, proof of payment of the registration fee (between 100 and 150 Swiss francs or 400 for late applications).

  • Finally, a personal letter of motivation expressing why you wish to study in Switzerland and why you chose that university and study programme.

Finally, application deadlines may vary depending on the university. Most universities begin their academic year in October. Consequently, applications must be submitted between the beginning of May and the end of September. In fact, applications submitted late are pending for the following semester.

Language Requirements

Once again, we remind you that Switzerland has 3 official languages: German, French and Italian.

  • French: DELF or DALF.

  • English: IELTS or TOEFL.

  • German: DSH, TestDaF, OSD or TELC.

Final step: acceptance letter

First of all, if you need a student visa, you should apply for it as soon as you receive the acceptance letter from the university. Generally speaking, embassies or consulates take about a month to process visas.

Foreigners wishing to study in Zurich also need a residence permit, which they can apply for at the local immigration office. This procedure is carried out within 14 days of arrival in Switzerland.

in Malta.

Malta

Si estás convencido de que quieres estudiar en Malta, te gustará saber que no existen muchos requisitos para que lo consigas.

 Si tienes pasaporte europeo, no existe ningún requisito especial para que vengas a estudiar inglés en Malta. Solo tendrás que elegir la escuela de inglés, comprar tus billetes de avión y lanzarte a la aventura.

Si vienes de algún otro país latinoamericano, como Chile, Argentina, México, Colombia, tendrás que cumplir una serie de requisitos para estudiar en Malta.

Estos requisitos son:

  • Pasaporte vigente.

  • Visado válido.

  • Billetes de avión de ida y vuelta.

  • Matricularte en un curso de inglés.

  • Contar con una carta de invitación o una reserva de alojamiento.

  • Contratar un seguro de viaje.

  • Demostrar que tienes ahorros suficientes para cubrir tu estancia en Malta

¿Qué visado necesito para estudiar en Malta?

Como te adelantamos en el apartado anterior, si tienes pasaporte europeo, no necesitas solicitar ningún visado para estudiar en Malta. 

Hay una lista de países que no necesitan ningún tipo de visa siempre y cuando el curso que vengas a estudiar a Malta sea de menos de 3 meses de duración.

Ahora bien, las visas a las que podrás aplicar en caso necesario son:

Short-Stay Schegen visa

Es para todos los estudiantes procedentes de países que no estén exentos de visa. Con él podrá estudiar cursos de hasta 3 meses de duración.

Student Visa

Para cursos de más de 3 meses de duración. Este tipo de visa se solicita una vez estés en Malta (salvo que tengas pasaporte de Ecuador, Bolivia o República Dominicana), tiene la misma duración que el curso en el que te hayas matriculado y permite a los estudiantes trabajar 20 horas a la semana.
